Oakwood Riding School is a not for profit organisation dedicated to equestrian excellence. It has origins dating back to 1947 and has operated continuously, providing opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate with horses.
Oakwood has a new property at Nar Nar Goon, west of Melbourne, and will develop a new facility to serve the needs of future generations. The site is a degraded grazing and poultry farm, with the proposal set to rehabilitate aspects of the endemic ecology. This will include an enhanced wetlands environment supplied with water from the roof of an indoor arena.
The property has been designed to allow for three functions to happen concurrently - riding school lessons in an indoor arena, agister riding in the second indoor arena and club based riding or competitions on the outdoor arena.
The initial stages of construction commenced in late 2025, with completion due in 2027.
