Luke Jones Architects have been engaged to design the most significant equestrian facility in Indonesia. Currently under construction, the privately owned venue is located at Gempol, near the city of Surabaya, on the eastern part of Java. The centre is designed to allow for Indonesian riders of all ages to be able to train and compete, particularly in the disciplines of dressage and showjumping, and to aspire to international competition at an elite level.
In addition to the Indoor Riding Arena and Stables, the venue will have a cafe, clubrooms, retail spaces and a state of the art veterinary clinic which will also serve as an equine teaching hospital.
The project is currently in an advanced stage of construction, with the first phase due for completion at the end of 2025.
