Boneo Park is a public competition venue located on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, southeast of Melbourne. This private development has set a new standard for competition venues for horsesport in Australia and is a much-loved destination on the competition and training calendar.
Luke Jones Architects have been involved from the initial purchase of undeveloped land to play our role in the creation of the venue. The development at the internationally recognised Boneo Park Equestrian Centre includes multiple outdoor sand and grass competition arenas, stable blocks, cafe, restaurant and viewing areas as well as all other necessary infrastructure.
The property is an excellent example of how to sustainably preserve a significant wetland environment. The equestrian facilities and restaurant have been carefully sited on degraded farming land, whilst protecting the wetland and Moonah woodland which occupy most of the remainder of the property. There is an extraordinary biodiversity of over 160 bird species and hundreds of species of indigenous flora and fauna, whilst allowing public access for use by the equestrian community and for visitors to be able to appreciate this diverse landscape. The wetland and woodland have been protected in perpetuity against development under a conservation covenant with Trust for Nature, with 200 hectares protected.
Boneo Park has hosted the 2025 Australian Jumping Championships and the 2026 Australian Dressage, Pony Dressage and Para Dressage Championships.
