ARILLA RESTAURANT
The new restaurant and administration building at Boneo Park has been located between the existing outdoor sand and grass arenas at a strategically key location on the property and allowing panoramic views. Administration functions for riders and officials are all accommodated at the southern end of the building. The new
café is conveniently situated at the heart of the competition action and is ideally located for competitors to find their food and drinks. The bar, deck and fireplace nook have an uninterrupted outlook over the grass jumping arena and beyond to the
permanent wetland lake. The main body of the restaurant looks over the dressage arenas, as well as taking in the heritage protected swamp scrub to the north.
Generous decks on both sides of the building provide additional elevated viewing, while the upper level deck has bird’s eye views over the competition arenas and to the lake and Tootgarook Swamp to the west. The building has a hybrid structure of a footings system of hardwood piles and a super structure of a steel frame, as a result of the location on a wetlands environment.
